Our removals team is continually on the move between Europe and the UK, and we don't like to bring our trucks back empty. Whether you're coming home or starting a new life in the UK, we can help make it a cost-effective reality.
Our European experts will discuss your move plan and check access to ensure your relocation goes smoothly. You will be kept fully informed of final schedules. We are experienced in providing outside hoists, shuttle vans and parking permits where required.
We can even store your furniture and belongings in our UK warehouses until you're ready to have them delivered to your new home.
Cost-effective removals to the UK
Using Britannia Bradshaw is often a very cost-effective solution over local firms in Europe and you don't need to fill up our entire removals van. We are happy to take small loads and part loads.
Importing personal belongings to the UK
Shipments of household goods and personal effects are allowed duty free entry into the UK, provided that they have been owned and used for at least six months prior to importation.
It is possible to have your goods cleared by customs before you arrive in the UK, providing they do not arrive more than six months before your own arrival and that all necessary documents are completed correctly and received by Britannia Bradshaw in advance of the shipment.
Assistance will be given to help you with customs formalities, and we will provide you with the correct customs form to complete and return before the arrival of your goods in the UK.
Removals to or from Europe, EU, and Brexit
If you're moving from Europe or an EU country - or moving to Europe and the EU to the UK - you probably have questions regarding the transport and importing of your belongings to your new country.
The transition period
During the transition period (scheduled to end on 31 December 2020), there are currently no changes to the free movement of people and goods between the European Union and the United Kingdom.
Should the United Kingdom decide to end the transition period early, requirements and processes may change. We will update our customers if circumstances and regulations change.
Moving Motor Vehicles to the UK
Beginning 15 April 2013, for all vehicles (both new and used) entering the UK for permanent use on UK roads you must notify HMRC within 14 days and any VAT due must be paid or accounted for. This new system is called the Notification of New Vehicle Arrivals (NOVA).
You will not be able to register and license your vehicle(s) with DVLA or DVA until you have received confirmation from HMRC that your notification has been processed and any VAT due has been paid.

How are our appointments carried out
In the current times you might prefer that we don't visit your house in person to carry out a survey. This is fully understandable and we can just as easily undertake the survey by video call, using whatever method you're comfortable with, usually FaceTime or WhatsApp.

George, Ben and Nicholas were absolutely fantastic. They arrived on time, removed furniture and boxes from our old house on time and delivered them into our new home efficiently. They were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly appreciative of their efforts in dismantling and reassembling our bed, which saved a huge amount of work for us. After a stressful few days in advance of the move, it was very reassuring to be in the hands of these professionals. They are a credit to the company.

When downsizing, do an in person tour rather relying than video tour to get a more accurate impression of volume and accessibility advice - eg if wardrobes etc need to be dismantled beforehand..
