12 July 2013 - Britannia Bradshaw have had the pleasure of hosting Jack Higginbottom of Broadoak High School for a week of Work Experience at our Manchester headquarters.
Fifteen year old Jack was given the opportunity by his school to do a week of Work Experience, choosing Britannia Bradshaw as the place he wanted to gain experience - and we were happy to welcome him.
Inspired by his grandfather, Dave Higginbottom, who worked on our European crew for over 20 years, Jack has been fascinated by the removals industry since he was a boy. When asked about his grandfather, Jack said, beaming, "he was a nice, hardworking man who enjoyed his job".
Jack would like to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and work on our European crews in the years to come, so he can see a bit of the world. He's also keen to become a driver in the future, and work his way up into management.
During this week, he's been out with crews on jobs at customer's homes, worked in our warehouse and has spent time in the offices learning about paperwork and using our computer systems.
He'll be sitting his exams in the spring, and hopes to be back working with us as often as he can.
We've thoroughly enjoyed having Jack on board, and look forward to him returning when he's able.
