We have an established, long standing and successful relationship with a network of dedicated removers in the UAE. Before your goods are forwarded, their full contact details will be sent to you. Our agents are part of our extended Britannia family and we meet with them on a regular basis to ensure high standards of service are maintained. We'll help you with the paperwork for customs, and inform you of any restrictions and requirements for importation into the UAE.
If you want to store some of your personal items in the UK, we can also handle that for you in our modern, purpose built warehouse.
Moving personal effects to the UAE and Dubai
Your household goods and personal effects are allowed duty free entry, provided that they have been owned and used prior to importation. Before your shipment is sent, all necessary documentation must be submitted and you must be in the country in order to successfully complete all customs clearance procedures.
All books, CDs, videos, DVDs and magazines are subject to physical inspection and need to be packed in separate cartons and marked clearly. They will be subject to review and censorship by the UAE Ministry of Information. Your items will be released if nothing abnormal is found. This procedure will take from 10 to 15 days.
Prohibitions and Restrictions
In general it is in your interest not to import the following items:
- Firearms & ammunition (real or ornamental)
- Swords, daggers, spears, etc.
- Military uniforms and equipment
- Inflammable goods & substances
- Plants & plant material
- Poppy seeds and flowers, leaves, etc.
- Foodstuffs, perishable or otherwise
- Narcotics and dangerous goods
- Offensive materials
- Tobacco and alcohol
- Statues and figures with a religious undertone
- Carvings and statues of humans - especially nude or pornographic
- Religious books other than Islamic
- Controversial political literature and materials contrary to an Islamic state's principles
UAE removals transit times
Groupage or shared load consignments usually take eight to 12 weeks, door to door. Keep in mind this can vary depending on volumes being shipped, customs or immigration delays and weather conditions. Sole use containers usually take five to six weeks door to door. More information on shipping your belongings overseas by ship.
Bar Coding
All Groupage consignments will be bar coded before they are loaded into the shipping container. This will ensure that no items are left at origin.

How are our appointments carried out
In the current times you might prefer that we don't visit your house in person to carry out a survey. This is fully understandable and we can just as easily undertake the survey by video call, using whatever method you're comfortable with, usually FaceTime or WhatsApp.

George, Ben and Nicholas were absolutely fantastic. They arrived on time, removed furniture and boxes from our old house on time and delivered them into our new home efficiently. They were friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly appreciative of their efforts in dismantling and reassembling our bed, which saved a huge amount of work for us. After a stressful few days in advance of the move, it was very reassuring to be in the hands of these professionals. They are a credit to the company.
