Packing for your removal
Our customers frequently choose our full or partial packing services, but many also choose to self pack for their removal. Packing your belongings can be a way to save a bit of the cost of moving - but only if you do it correctly. If you don't pack your belongings well, they can break or become misplaced, costing you more in the long run through buying replacement items. And, of course, some things just can't be replaced.
Removal boxes
Having good removal boxes is the first step to ensuring your packing and removal day goes well. We will advise you on boxes for your removal at the time you book to ensure you have enough of the right cartons for your needs. If you're not moving with us, you can purchase removals boxes from Britannia Bradshaw.
Buy removal boxes & packing materials
You don't need to be moving with Britannia Bradshaw to buy our home moving boxes and supplies. We sell our sturdy, clean boxes in various sizes, wardrobe cartons, as well as bubble wrap and tape.
There's no minimum purchase - you can buy one box or buy enough for your entire house to be packed away, the choice is yours.
Home delivery is available - If you drive a very small car or don't drive at all, we can bring the boxes and supplies to you for a small fee. Please ask our representatives for more information on delivery costs for your cartons and supplies.
Don't overfill your boxes
Although our removals crews are fully trained and experienced in handling and removals, they are still just humans. Please don't make the boxes too heavy for them to carry. A good rule of thumb is if you can't pick up the box, neither can they. Pack light items such as bedding and linens in large boxes, and heavy items such as books in smaller boxes. And don't be afraid to put your cushions and pillows in with your heavier items - you can save space that way, and the boxes are still light enough to be picked up easily.
No hazardous materials
Our insurance doesn't allow us to carry hazardous materials such as paint and other liquids. You'll need to arrange for these items to be moved yourself. We suggest putting them into a plastic container before attempting to transport hazardous materials.

How are our appointments carried out
In the current times you might prefer that we don't visit your house in person to carry out a survey. This is fully understandable and we can just as easily undertake the survey by video call, using whatever method you're comfortable with, usually FaceTime or WhatsApp.
